About
Chris Hales is an eclectic composer who has written music in a wide variety of styles. While working on his music degree at Utah Valley University, he studied composition with Dr. Marden Pond, Sam Cardon, and Todd Sorensen. Several of his compositions have been performed by UVU ensembles, and he has received commissions from Larry Green and Justin Leslie. His studies with great composers have given insight into many styles of music, and he has composed everything from traditional classical pieces to scores for film. Also a fine guitarist, he composes music for the classical guitar that is both beautiful and exploitive of the unique abilities of the instrument.
Current Projects
Chris is currently composing and orchestrating for a family friendly musical in the works titled, "Tina the Toothfairy." More information is available at: https://www.facebook.com/events/440964656092753/The "American Suite" for classical guitar is now complete. The 5 movement suite is a comprehensive look at American Music, and draws stylistically from Jazz, Blues, Bluegrass, Native American, and other American styles.
